CAROLE KING-

                                                                     Tapestry

Carole King was one of the most successful singer- songwriters of the early-to-mid 1970's. This album was her first official solo record. (She had also been part of a songwriting-duo in the 1960's but the hits were mostly associated with the artists who performed them). A few are covered here with mostly new songs and a participation by many different musicians that helped to define this new-artist. She was not so much a singer-vocalist as her voice was more of a song-accompianment.
She was definitely a songwriter as evidenced by the 12 great ones contained within this tape. The sequence of these songs from the original vinyl-record, (one of the all-time best-sellers of the 1970's), gets all manner of mixed-up within this format, but it doesn't matter. Any way in which you hear these compositions is appropiate. The 8-track format may have tried but it just couldn't ruin this really great album. This tape was found in excellent condition and is as close to     factory fresh as it gets.
